Will NPR take this story up? Well, WILL THEY??

From DN!:

"TODAY'S DEMOCRACY NOW!:

* EXCLUSIVE...Pentagon Pundits: New York Times Reporter David Barstow Wins Pulitzer Prize for Exposing Military's Pro-War Propaganda Media Campaign *

In his first national broadcast interview, New York Times reporter David Barstow speaks about his 2009 Pulitzer Prize-winning expose of the Pentagon propaganda campaign to recruit more than seventy-five retired military officers to appear on TV outlets as military analysts ahead of and during the Iraq war. This week, the Pentagon inspector general's office admitted its exoneration of the program was flawed and withdrew it."

Well, Port - I won't mince words when I respond simply with this.
"Yyyyyah. Right."

You'd think this would fall under the "more conspicuous by omission" category - but no! Corporate News buddies must be insulated at all costs.

Oh, no. I heard the issue definitively put to rest after the story broke with an appearance on "TOTN" of some NPR functionary (don't remember which one), who said they didn't have anything to do with it, the end, case closed.

Porter, I take it that you weren't convinced by NPR's in-house fig leaf over it's participation in the Pentagon propaganda program last May 4, 2008 and May 6, 2008?

Thanks for the Memory Lane references, Myt. Boy, we were just as feisty back then, weren't we? Back in the Bush Dark Age, which went on for centuries, the fresh and friendly fightin' mad community hereabouts was always a great pit stop. Still is, of course.
